Streaks are something that you may not know are important to your teenager... what are streaks? Well streaks originated with Snapchat, the social media app and has moved into other apps as well. The "point" of a streak is really just to see how long you can keep it going; it's one of a few features built into the app that turns it into a kind of game. There's not exactly anything to "win," though, so perhaps "challenge" is a slightly better term for a snapstreak than "game."
In life, sometimes it seems like our faith journey is like a snapstreak... We really want to keep it going... but with the business of life we end up breaking our streak. Students get back from a spiritually high weekend like retreat or camp and start a strong streak, but a few weeks later.... it's broken- back to old habits, old language, old friends....Now they never use this verbiage, but in some form or another (almost weekly) teenagers ask me "how do I keep my streak going?"
Sunday nights in January we'll be answering that question! Make sure your teenager does not miss our Streaks Series!

Every Wednesday night at The Grove for over a year now, we've gone through a chapter or two of a book of the Bible.... Although many students know the "big" stories IN the Bible, few students know the story ABOUT the Bible. Starting on January 9th we'll be diving into a Bible study... about the Bible. We'll be talking about where it came from, who wrote it, and why a book this old is still credible in this information society. Through this study, students will learn that the story of the Bible is just as important as what's in it. Don't miss our study on the Bible, Wednesday nights at 6:30!
